Manchester United vs Manchester City
English League Cup, 21h00
I will focus again on this derby, as I did last week. City won 2-1 at home, in a match that saw United better throughout the first half, but City responded so well after the break.
United face the same maybe more problems in defence than last week, as Vidic is out with injury and Rio Ferdinand may be facing a three match ban if he doesn't make an appeal. As for attack, United will once again put their faith in Rooney and provide him with all the support. Many say that United is dependent on Rooney at the moment.
In the other camp, Mancini will have Toure and Adebayor back from the African Cup of Nations, but they are expected to start the evening on the bench. Tevez will pose the main peril for the hosts, as Bellamy will have his way on the left. The Welsh made two stunning performances against United this season and he will give Sir Alex Ferguson a few headaches before and as the game develops. City were very frustrated when they lost 4-3 in autumn at Old Trafford courtesy of an 96th minute winner from Michael Owen.
It is very tight when we analyze head-to-head history as they have both won 3 times in the last 6 encounters.
Manchester City have not been in a Cup Final for 29 years.
I will go for City to go to Wembley, at 4/5.
