I'll start again with 500 units.
This is my first tip for this week and it concerns
VFB Stuttgart and Hamburger SV.
Hamburg stands 4th from bottom in the Erste Bundesliga,
with just one win to date. They are also eliminated from
the Uefa Champions League having lost four times from
four outings (Arsenal - at home, CSKA Moskva - away
and FC Porto - both home and away). On Saturday they've
lost away at lowly Wolfsburg 1-0. So, they've really
been embarassing. I should add that they are still missing
about seven important faces for this match, with the most
important being defender Vincent Kompany, Argentine skipper
Juan Pablo Sorin and Swiss international Rafael Wicky.
Coach Thomas Doll has been heavily criticised for the summer
transfers and his job is very unsecure before this fixture.
He knows a loss tonight will mean that he's fired.
Meanwhile Stuttgart has been the black horse in the 2006-2007
Bundesliga season, enjoying a rich vein of form. Armin Veh's
men are placed second in Germany. In their last two outings
they thrashed Schalke 04 at home (1-0) 3-0 and Alemania Aachen
away (1-2) 2-4. They don't have new injury concerns which means
their coach can line-up his best eleven. Their lead striker is
Mario Gomez, who notched up six goals this term. I should also
add that Stuttgart defeated giants Werder Bremen at Wesserstadion
three goals to two in the process.
I'm going for a VFB Stuttgart win tonight, with the home side
leading at the break. I'll put up 50 units. The odds are 19/10.
The game will comence at 20.00 CET.
