From tonight's UEFA Cup clashes I picked the following:
Ajax - Austria Vienna 1/1 (20 units, at 3/5).
Austria Vienna are second from bottom in their domestic
league, while Ajax are goin through a rich vein of form.
Ajax will start up-front with their fantastic striker
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Palermo - Newcastle 1 (40 units, at 9/10).
Palermo are joint-leaders in the Italian top-flight, the
Serie A, alongside Internazionale. Lately they defeated
Milan AC, 2-0, at the San Siro and Fiorentina, 3-2 at the
week-end, at Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence. The
rosaneri are without absentees and will play at full strength.
Newcastle will be missing their most important strikers,
Obafemi Martins, Shola Ameobi, Michael Owen, all through
injuries and, on-loan from M.U., Italian forward Giusseppe
Rossi, who is rested.
Dinamo Bucuresti - Besiktas 1 (100 units, evens).
Dinamo have won 19 matches in all competitions this seasons,
and drawn just once. They have a great trio up-front in the
likes of Danciulescu, Niculescu and Ganea, completed by the
most-creative midfield. Dinamo are first in Romania, 12 points
clear off arch rivals Steaua, which they defeated at Stefan cel
Mare Stadium, 1-0.
Meanwhile, Besiktas lost at home in their first Uefa Cup game,
0-2 against Tottenham Hotspurs. And if that wasn't enough they
are missing their striking duo, Nobre and Kleberson. And it is a
known-fact that they are a power at Inonu Stadium, but they
are performing scarcely away from home.
